The coldest temperature ever recorded in Scotland

On 11 February 1895, the coldest temperature ever recorded in Scotland, minus 27.2 degrees Celsius, was recorded at Braemar in Aberdeenshire.

The equivalent measurement in Fahrenheit is minus 16.96.

The exact same temperature was recorded for a second time at Braemar on 10 January 1982 and on 30 December 1995 at Altnaharra in Sutherland.
